Laurel County Sheriff’s Office arrests man for rape of child under 12 for approximately seven years
Laurel County, Kentucky – Laurel County Sheriff John Root reports that detectives have arrested 39-year-old Andrew Hedrick of London around 10:38 p.m. on April 11, 2025.
According to Sheriff Root, the arrest occurred in Georgetown following an investigation by LCSO investigators.
Investigators attempted to locate the suspect who was driving a tractor trailer with GPS capability. The company turned on the GPS to allow investigators to track the suspect.
Sheriff Root says the vehicle was tracked near Berea traveling southbound on I-75 where the suspect abruptly turned around and headed back northbound away from Laurel County.
The suspect was eventually located near a business in Scott County and taken into custody by Kentucky State Police, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, and the Georgetown Police Department.
Andrew Hedrick is charged with Rape – First Degree – Victim Under 12 Years of Age, Sodomy – First Degree – Victim Under 12 Years of Age, and Sexual Abuse – First Degree – Victim Under 12 Years of Age.
Authorities say the victim was allegedly sexually abused for approximately seven years. Hedrick was booked into the Laurel County Correctional Center.
